The General Manager will be responsible for expanding our position in German-speaking countries. Leading a team of 21 people (Sales, customer service, finance, and R&D) and expanding the network in Germany, Austria, Switzerland as well as the Czech Republic and Slovakia to further develop our business in the Northern European context and to make optimal use of the available resources in the company and in the Hazera organization.


Job Responsibilities


Strategy Aspects

  • Lead the strategic planning for the region / local think-tank for business expansion and formulate strategic planning for the region.
  • Supervised local financial matters and assumed responsibility for all local operations, product development, and sales.
  • Responsible for budget and forecast compiled for the various sister companies in consultation with the responsible partners in the individual business units within the Limagrain Group.

Commercial Aspects

  • Driving the continuous optimization of commercial excellence (sales and operations) processes aligned with a global strategy to manage the commercial activities, funnel, and sales numbers with predictability.
  • Manage the cooperation with the sister companies HM.Clause and Vilmorin.Mikado as strategic partners within the Limagrain Vegetable Group (LVS), This includes sales in Switzerland in cooperation with HM.Clause, and in Austria with Vilmorin.

Leadership Aspects

  • Establishing a Shared Vision, clearly defined goals, Effective Work Practices, and priorities.
  • Develop and guide the team towards achieving high performance.
  • Defining a development plan, and training sessions for employee development. And actively lead employee development and growth, through constructive feedback, and empowerment.



  • Higher educational level in Agriculture and/or Business Administration/ Finance / etc.
  • Good understanding of the seed industry or the professional agricultural environment.
  • At least 5 years experience managing a team in a technical/commercial environment within the green industry.
  • Hands-on personality, independent and pro-active.
  • Customer relationships are critical to this role and are based on trust and often long-term.
  • Fluent in German and English, additional language desired (Dutch, Hebrew French are nice to have).
  • Willing to travel frequently (25% of working time).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
