Seed processing Manager

( based in Sderot, IL)

Reports to: Sderot Plant Manager

Mission:

Leading Seed Processing department, including the disinfection, cleaning, and upgrading treatment activities.

synchronization creation and maximization of the processing recourses’ potential by encouraging excellence, professionalism, and implementation of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Leading the department and ensuring providence and product delivery according to business needs. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide direct leadership by developing and leveraging talents, skills, and motivation to align with current and future needs and ensure succession of business-critical positions.

Monitor and control – Translate business objectives into goal-oriented short-mid, and long-term plans for seed processing activities. Deploy resources optimally, monitor progress, and steer on achieving business objectives.

Communication, building on effective internal and external networks, and leveraging relationships.

Management information – Provide transparent managerial reports on the progress of business objectives (Plant KPIs).

Plant’s management team member – Support achieving plant KPIs, leading cross-plant projects.

Execution – Led and initiated the implementation of advanced methodologies, tools, and technologies to accelerate business initiatives.

 Preferred Profile:

• BSc in industrial engineering and management.
• 5-7 years of experience as a Production Manager.
• Excellent knowledge of processing production and quality control principles.
• Experience with initiating and integrating new, tools, methods, and procedures.
• Excel skills. Confident in the use of Excel tools.
• Good operational skills execution to provide solutions and opportunities for improvements.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent communication abilities good interpersonal skills, able to interact between different interfaces.
• Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
• Have a strong action-driven personality, and results orientation (passion about making the right things happen in the right way at the right time).
• Ownership – accountability for results.
• A team player.

Summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager has the global responsibility for all activities regarding the financial planning, financial reporting and financial analysis, for which s/he is supported by a global team of controllers.

In addition, within the global Finance organization, s/he will take a leading role in addressing the local challenges in Finance IL. In this context, the Finance Manager IL will report to her/him.

Job description

• Management of a team of 9 controllers (based in IL and NL, and partly in a matrix structure);
• Responsibility for the execution of the annual financial planning cycle, including budget, forecasts and mid-term planning;
• Responsibility for the consolidation of the financial statements;
• Responsibility for the financial reporting to the French parent company, including the reporting done by the subsidiaries;
• Preparation of the financial reports and analysis for the Company management;
• Providing pro-active business support and analysis to the organization;
• Management of the modules in the financial tools, QlikView and Hyperion;
• Management of the Finance Manager IL;
• Pro-actively addressing the local challenges in Finance IL;
• Other analysis and reports as may be required by the Company.

Candidate profile

Education and experience:

• CPA-level (acquired by education or experience);
• At least 5 years of experience in financial management;
• At least 5 years of international experience in a complex industrial environment;
• Fluent in English, both spoken and in writing;

Abstract:

The R&D department of Hazera seeks a motivated candidate for the full-time position of Associate Tomato Breeder. The objective of this position is to participate actively in developing new Tomato varieties for Hazera’s product portfolio using effective breeding methods and advanced technology.

This position will provide opportunity to develop technical and leadership skills towards taking on responsibility for leading a Breeding program near-term.

Professional responsibilities:

• Develop knowledge of the crop, products, markets, and customers in collaboration with Marketing, Product Development, and Sales
• Translate the crop R&D strategy into product-oriented breeding project plans
• Manage components of a successful breeding program: germplasm, elite line development with innovative traits, hybrid development and evaluation, and elite seeds production
• Actively steer program to deliver leading hybrids
• Monitor and report on genetic progress and KPIs within a resource frame
• Manage breeding support and contribute to the work of an international team
• Optimize breeding success by implementation of leading-edge molecular breeding technologies
• Travel to relevant markets for evaluation of trials and engagement with colleagues and customers

Requirements:

• MSc/PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or related field.
• Practical experience in Vegetable Breeding (5+ years)
• Applied knowledge of statistics, experimental design and breeding technologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with orientation to details
• Project and people management skills
• Enthusiasm for Agriculture, Research, Technology and Innovation
• Aptitude for work with multicultural, cross-functional and dispersed teams
• Well-organized, methodical and able to multitask
