General Manager Hazera UK

Main Goal

As the General Manager of Hazera UK, you will be responsible for expanding the company’s position in the UK and Ireland by optimally utilizing all available resources. You will lead the UK team to achieve business and financial goals, contributing to Hazera’s success. This role involves close collaboration with the Europe Commercial Director, local UK and BU managers, and colleagues in the Limagrain Vegetable Seeds (LVS) division. The General Manager will create a multi-year vision and plan for sustainable commercial growth, manage a team of 24 people from various fields, develop a high-performing team, encourage cooperation, and foster a positive, goal-oriented culture.

Job description

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and market expansion in the UK and Ireland.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Streamline commercial processes and enhance operational efficiency to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Partnership Management: Foster and manage strategic partnerships with sister companies and key stakeholders to support business development.
  • Marketing Oversight: Lead the creation and execution of promotional strategies, including the development of marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Customer Relations: Address and resolve product complaints and claims, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embracing innovation and managing change effectively.
  • Team Leadership and Development: promote a positive work environment, Inspire and guide the team by setting clear goals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. promoting continuous learning and development through training programs, feedback, and empowerment.

Skills: what we expect of you

  • Higher educational level in Agriculture and/or Business Administration/ Finance / etc.
  • Good understanding of the vegetable seed industry or the professional agricultural environment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing a team in a technical/commercial environment within agriculture or related industries.
  • Hands-on personality, independent and pro-active.
    Customer proximity and relationships are critical to this role and are based on trust and can often be long-term.
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for the UK business and sister brands to both internal and external audiences.
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages such as Dutch and French an advantage.
  • Willing to travel frequently locally and on occasion outside the UK. (up to 15-20% of total working time)
